Shounen Dreams (A warm, flaky crust)

If I end up winning or something fantastic

I will probably have a most wonderful bittersweet mixture of pride and shame

But, hopefully mostly pride

• Painted megaphone for cosplay
• Travel bottles of trademark shampoo and conditioner
• Special body wash and spray for maximum pretty smelling
• Probably some other stuff too

Altogether though today has been a fairly good day. In total, I :

• played cosplay chess and never got played due to registering last night and the only open spot being a pawn
• saw a bunch of friends but failed to coordinate with the majority of them
• bought some cool stuff only partially with my own money ;_;
• went to a concert which was even louder than I am used to and not super impressive
• went to a show with a moe idol who kinda looked like she might have been well into her 30’s but was still very peppy and positive I suppose

and ultimately enjoyed the con to the fullest extent possible minus sore feet resulting in insufficient energy to attend the rave, and arriving too late to attend any cosplay panels.

Tomorrow will be better though for sure.

SO EXCITE

It’s been a pretty crazy day full of cramming in as much Houston and Woodlands action as possible,

while consequently also putting off as much convention preparation as possible.

Things really should end up going over fairly fine, but neglecting to check the schedule posted and the forum things until just like an hour or two ago was probably not the best idea.

Due to our inability to plan correctly, we’ll be missing out on taking part in a vocaloid photo shoot and having the potential to take positions other than pawns in cosplay chess, but that’s alright.

In any case, lessons learned/re-learned:

• Buy tickets as early in advance as possible
• Do not plan major shopping trips on the days immediately preceding a convention
• Checking the forums ONCE the night before a convention does not put you in the loop
• Consistent forum usage is essential to successful event participation, even if you harbor a violent hate for message boards and everything they stand for
• Daily cosplay choices depend on the events you will be participating in, not on whatever you fancy wearing for what day
• Planning is important and actually requires slight effort sometimes

But fortunately spending the past hour or so plotting things out has helped significantly.

So, hopefully things will go well.

But now it’s time for bed.
